Christmas is the best time of the year to visit Zagreb. During the holidays, the city is traditionally lit with festive lights, music echoes in virtually every corner of the city center, and delicious street food and winter beverages are sold at stalls and decorated chalets that populate the city’s streets and squares.
The 16th annual Zagreb Film Festival, which runs from November 11 to 18, will bring more than a hundred screenings, as well as a number of side programs to several locations across the city, including the cinemas Europa and Tuškanac, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Summer at Stross, the summer-long festival of outdoor cultural and entertainment events held in the shade of chestnut trees on the old Strossmayer Promenade in the Upper Town, has once again breathed new life into the popular Zagreb landmark.
OneLife Rally, a 7-day car event that takes drivers through some of the most captivating landscapes of Southeast Europe, returns for its second year from June 30 to July 7, 2018. The route will include major cities in Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Romania.
INmusic Festival, Croatia’s largest open air music festival, will once again bring together some of the world’s best known pop and rock artists at Jarun Lake, Zagreb’s favourite summer getaway spot. The festival takes place from June 25 to 27 on three islands on the lake: the Isle of Youth, Trešnjevka Island and Univerzijada Island, with the latter two reserved for the festival camp.
The 2018 Zagreb Design Week, Croatia’s largest annual event dedicated to design, will be held at the Hall V of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum and at numerous partner locations across the city from May 11 to 20.
2Cellos, the world-famous Croatian cellist duo, will perform at the Zagreb Arena on March 23. The concert is part of the duo’s Score Tour, which kicked off at the Palladium in London in March 2017 to promote their fourth album, Score, released last March.
The Festival of Lights will be hosted in Zagreb for the second year in a row from March 15 to 18, 2018. The event will transform a number of locations across the city using spectacular light art and innovative visual installations to provide an enchanting evening atmosphere over the course of the four days.
